Edhi Sahib your dream is our dream. We will never let you down.

Edhi Foundation is a non-profit social welfare program in Pakistan, founded by an honorable man Abdul Sattar Edhi sb. He, in his life, made sure that whoever be it a child, grown up man or woman after being rejected by their loved ones never feel alone or distorted. We are born in families but sometimes circumstances make us fall apart. Here, we will focus on the Edhi Foundation whose operations are falling down because of fewer donations. The main reason here is that after the death of the great Edhi sb people thought that his sons are not doing things by stepping on his footsteps. Conflicts arose and somehow the donations decreased drastically.
We, being a part of Amal Academy, conducted a 2-week drive in which we collected donations for Edhi foundation. Edhi sb had a thought that Pakistan’s people are enough to help their own people. He begged on roads, he drove ambulances himself, he never felt shame in helping the people. His story helped us to never give up even when we failed.
People in our country are hesitant to donate because of a lack of motivation and fear or concern about the real cause/utilization of those donations. Our challenge was to convince them to donate for that we utilized different communication mediums. Many people did not respond. So we followed the extra-mile approach via the in-person strategy and told them the whole scenario. This thing persuaded them to give some donation however some people refused to do so. Here one can say lack of a passion and humanity needed to be awakened. Additionally, people are also dependent on what they can do is to volunteer for a noble purpose of fundraising for the betterment of the needy. Here youth especially students can play a vital role to fulfill the agenda of the Edhi foundation in the nation.
So, we, the youth, the fellows at Amal Academy came up with these solutions to cope with this situation.
1- To use our social circles to raise funds
2- To raise awareness among the university students to get them to realize and donate for the noble cause.
3- To talk to general people and tell them the severity of the condition

4- And we approached to our teachers also so that they can also be part of this noble cause.
Excited to know about what happened next? Well. We applied these solutions and the results were fantastic. Our friends and family responded very positively and we were able to collect more than 3000 PKR in only 2 hours. In our universities, the response again let us cherish the taste of our dream and talking & convincing the general public was a hard nut to crack but many people gave a positive gesture and this led us to collect 400 PKR in 3 hours drill. In second day drive I become able to collect more donation as compare to first day drive , 6000 in duration of 2 hours in second day drive.
Dear Mr. Edhi, we will not let you down. Your dream is our dream and we will continue your noble cause.
