Way by which we can minimize or stop procrastination and distractions.

Whenever most of us think to do something, we faced different types of distractions due to which focus on that work decreases and mostly we procrastinate that work. I also faced this problem many time. I am habitual of making my daily to do list. But due to distractions, mostly I became unable to do all tasks at time. And my to do list mostly have something undone.

Yesterday when I read the concept of pomodoro technique. I applied this concept to do my Assignment work. I have to read two research papers to write a review on them. Before this whenever I try to read them my focus point decreases due to social media distraction and hostel fellows. Now I chose a silent zone area in hostel, left my cell phone in my room and set alarm of 25 minutes to read half research paper. I was surprised when I read whole research paper in that time and understand all things which were problematic. After 5 minutes again I set the alarm for 25 minutes to read 2nd research paper and this time I was done with my own assigned task in 22 minutes. After 10 minutes break, I started to write review on that papers and I was done with this after 2 hours. I was happy because I was done with the task which I found difficult from last two weeks and I always delayed it.

I was a great experience and it helped me to increase my focus time. From this, I learned how I can tackle the procrastination situation in future and how I can reduce distractions during doing tasks of my to do list. In future I will give myself a reward also at the end of doing most difficult task of that day to do list.
